PERFORMANCE PEMF

EQUINE and CANINE SESSIONS

What happens during an equine session?

Various sized flexible PEMF loops are used in specific positions for a full body session – not just for horses, but cattle, goats, pigs and more. The different sized loops mean that all areas of the body are catered for, including the legs and hooves.

The pulse can reach up to 16” deep, so areas of the body that are usually hard to reach (like the psoas) are also taken care of. Other, more delicate areas such as the hyoid and TMJ also benefit immensely, particularly if they are windsuckers or perform other activities that put strain on the poll areas.

* Stretches for these areas should only be performed by someone qualified as damage can too easily be done to these delicate areas – but during a PEMF session, a horse will do their own stretches if they need to!

You will notice all the usual signs of relaxation and release from your horse during a session; soft sleepy eyes, yawning, licking, chewing and stretching. Whilst working around the head you may notice head nods, shakes and snorts and occasionally mental resistance due to the sensations they may be experiencing.

Occasionally a horse may resist release for a session or two, but when they do let go they really relax and benefit! This often depends on the personality of your horse.

What happens during a pet session?

Most owners are concerned how their pet will react, especially if they suffer with anxiety, or easily become overexcited. Like all animals, dogs may be unsure about their first session, but once your pet knows what is expected, they usually can’t wait for their PEMF session and relax right into it, often falling asleep and sometimes they don’t want to leave!

A combination of the PEMF mat, loops or paddles are utilised for dogs for a full body session. Sometimes you may see muscle fasiculation as with the larger animals, but the pulse intensity is to the comfort of the individual – and sometimes this means that there no visual representative to observers.

How do we know when its the right level of intensity? Your pet will tell us! By observing subtle signals and body language your pet will say what their comfort level is. We don’t have to feel or see anything, but your pet will still benefit.

Animals respond very well to PEMF and often retain the effects for some time. This is because they live in the moment; animals have no pre-conceived ideas or schedules to keep, they only focus on what they are doing at the time.

There are no placebo effects for animals.

Regular maintenance minimises the risk of injury – this being modalities such as massage, PEMF, chiropractic etc. By keeping up a regular PEMF routine, areas of inflammation or cellular imbalance can be identified before there is a real problem (as seen by the muscle fasiculation). If you know a problem is developing, you can take more steps to address the issue before it goes any further, potentially putting your horse out for the season. PEMF also supports other modalities, relaxing and deepening the effect and helping to get the results they want to see.

Horses (and dogs) are athletes. And not only that they usually have to carry us on their backs as well. If you compete in a dicipline that requires repetitive movement, huge amounts of physical exhertion, stressors on the limbs – or for horses who are not fit enough to be doing the work they are doing, such as the holiday ponies and weekend warriors (don’t underestimate the demands of a trail ride), PEMF therapy can help with their post-exercise recovery; muscle fatigue, inflammation, swelling, tendon and ligament strain, joint health, lactic acid build up, stiffness and relaxation.

PEMF is non-invasive and natural. It helps with the bodies overall wellness, assisting cellular function so the bodys systems can do what it does naturally, heal and operate as efficiently as possible.

What issues have you come across?

Slow wound healing, slow recovery from exercise, laminitis, hoof abscess, arthritis and other degenerative conditions like navicular and ringbone, ulcers, flinching whilst being groomed or saddled, tendon and ligament sprains and strains, physical stressors from environment and habitual vices such as cribbing and windsucking, mystery issues or other methods that are not as successful as they should be, fractures, paddock injuries, kissing spine, behavioural issues from pain…. something else?

PEMF can not, and does not diagnose, only your vet can do that. PEMF doesn’t treat either. It is a complimentary modality to help the body help itself and a balanced dies and adequate hydration are essential. PEMF doesn’t replace the need for other therapy types as we all work together for the best outcome for each individual animal.

If you haven’t tried PEMF therapy yet, you should:)

Animals Detox too

Detoxification is a natural process that the body uses to cleanse itself of various toxins and impurities that can accumulate in the body. These toxins and impurities limit how effectively organs function.

The kidneys, liver, lymph, skin and the digestive system:

Humans and animals – it is essential that these organs are as clean as possible in order for them to function at their top level. When they are overloaded they cannot function as well as they should, leading to other health issues.

Good quality food, nutritional support, hydration and exercise are key elements. Nutrition is generally used up by the body in greater amounts by those who are ill and toxic, so please consult your Veterinarian and Nutritionist.

PEMF therapy can also provide the energy the cells need and further enhance the cleansing process.

** Always consult your vet for an accurate diagnosis. PEMF therapy does not diagnose, and in some cases will be refused without a veterinarians consent.

** Consult your vet for information on detoxification in your specific animal and how to aid the process – check with your vet before  using things like toxin binders, to be sure that one does not interfere with the process of other supplements etc.
